9 Months Old

Jacob turned 9 months old on Monday 3/1/10. He's growing up SO FAST! I remember the time just flying past me when Shyla was little and nothing has changed with Jacob. On Wednesday 3/3/10 he went in for a checkup and here are his current stats:

15lb, 6.2oz (0.45% weight for age)
26 ¼” (2.33% length for age)
17.76” head circ. (44.20% circ for age)

He now has 4 teeth although 2 of them are just a little poked through and still need to rise up to be the same height as his other tooth. A couple more teeth are working their way through. When Jacob teethes, his teeth push on the gums and sometimes even slightly poke through the gums, but then disappear! A week or so later the same thing happens. At times this goes on for weeks until the tooth is ready to come through. He recently has started eating those little dissolveable cheerio-type cereal. He also likes to eat cottage cheese, pudding, and ice cream. He's still working on feeding himself and I am there every step of the way with a camera in his face!

A week ago he started to say "dadada". The doctor says it won't be long before he's intentionally saying "dada" to his dad. Sorry Jake, he may be saying "dada", but doesn't know what he's saying. I'm still holding out for him to say "mama" intentionally first!

What he's currently into:

-Ripping paper and eating it
-Smacking his hand on the table
-Crawl around to explore the house
-Pull himself up to the toy bin, get some toys, and throw them out
-Babble and "jibbertalk" as Jake says... loud!
-Find microscopic things on the floor and eat them
-Baths in the kitchen sink (he's still not a fan of the big bathtub)
-Likes to sleep with 1 binky in his mouth and one in each hand
