After lunch, Jake and I met up with a LONG time friend of mine, Jennifer and her husband Alex. We first met at All Saints school in 3rd grade, we lost touch for a few years because I changed schools in 4th grade. We met back up again in 7th grade and we've been friends ever since! They were nice enough to take us around the city; not only "The Strip", but we got to see some stores, their apartment and new doggie, and areas around Vegas that are being built up with more homes. Our first stop was the Stratosphere. I had already been to the top and it has an awesome view, but Jake had never been up there. If you look closely, you can see a green "bar" just above the windows. That is a ride called INSANITY that Jake went on.
There used to be a roller coaster up there that closed a few years ago. Now there are 3 rides. Insanity, one that repeatedly throws you over the edge, and another that shoots you up in the air and bounces a few times (similar to Drop Zone at Great America, only Drop Zone doesn't bounce).

The ride is moving out, the only thing between the ride and the ground is air.
The ride is starting to slow and bring everyone back down to safety.

Trump tower. In front of Trump tower just to the left there used to be a hotel. I already forgot the name of it, but it's ok because it's not even there anymore. Gotta make room for bigger hotels/casinos.

Later on the in evening we ate at a restaurant called Grand Lux Cafe. The food was delicious, the prices were decent, and it's owned/operated by The Cheesecake Factory, what more could you ask for in a restaurant?
After dinner, we walked around the Venician (for some reason this trip, we kept ending up at the Venician). We saw quiant restaurants with plenty of activity. There were also gondola rides with someone who sings to you along the ride.
A lady dressed as a statue. I don't know how with all that makeup she doesn't have to scratch her face even a little bit. She didn't move at all.
We ended up at the store getting some snacks and came across breeding cicadas. There were THOUSANDS of them all over in the parking lot. Here are some on the ground. We drove through them after this picture and it made them all fly around. Some even were stuck on the hood of the car until we got down the street.
