Singing Flag

Normally for 4th of July Jake works the parade and festivites in Concord for the Reserves and I stay home with the kids. This year since Jake had surgery, he's still not cleared to go back to normal duty, so we got to spend it together and with our good friend Auntie Tami. We decided to go out to Concord for Singing Flag. About 4-5,000 other people had the same wonderful idea!

FunZone USA and more...Afternoon activities include an expanded FunZone U.S.A. for the kids, and a huge concession stand. Or you can bring your own food and picnic. Afternoons are a great time for families to come to the park to relax, eat and play! Preparing for the 22nd season, The Flag 2010 is a patriotic salute to America. With a cast & choir of over 150 people, this free event is a family-oriented celebration of our country and its people. Through music, dance and drama, our show includes encore audience favorites, movie and TV spoofs, a celebration of our faith, and a salute to the military. The evening culminates in a fantastic aerial fireworks show.

National recording artist, Tony LeBron returns as our guest soloist this year along with Bay Area favorite radio voice, Brian Rhea.

Concessions:

We have a full concessions stand & BBQ--featuring hamburgers, hot dogs, polish dogs & tri-tip sandwiches. French fries, chicken strips, nachos, corn dogs, popcorn, cotton candy and more. We also have shaved ice and specialty coffees.

Plan to join us in July 2,3, & 4 as we present the 22nd annual Flag . Thousands have made it an Independence Day family tradition. Why not make it yours!

The Singing Flag is the best place in Concord to see an exciting aerial fireworks display! Kick back on your blanket and enjoy the show! Giving To the Community- The Flag is a free gift to our community. It is very costly to present this show and we depend on the support of our local businesses to help us offset the costs incurred from the city, advertising and production costs. We also welcome corporations and businesses to come alongside Calvary Temple as a sponsor.

We totally packed for the trip and then when we got there, we went in the trunk to get the food and realized that it was in the coolers still on the counter at home! We had to buy over-priced food there, but it was still fun! We spent some time letting Shyla play in the FunZone, she absolutely LOVED the bouncy houses! We got some food, went to our blankets and watched the show from 7:30-9:30 with the fireworks right after. It was a great time!
