Crab Feed for Concord Police Association

Every year there is a crab feed benefit for Concord Police Association. This has become an annual thing for Jake and I. There were around 150 people in attendance and tickets were $40/person. Normally we wouldn't spend that much on dinner, but this is for a good cause, plus the food is YUMMY!

I brought gallon size bags with me to bring some food back. Maybe you're allowed to, maybe not, but at $40 a pop... I'm going to! I didn't think to take pictures of all the food, but before the crab even gets brought out they stuff you with all kinds of YUMMY food! First there's drinks and snack mix to mingle with. Then they bring out the salad. Then spaghetti with grated cheese and garlic bread. Then marinated tri-tip. THEN King crab... and LOTS of it. The trays just keep on coming. And if that wasn't enough, after dinner there is containers of sherbert, you know, the kind of the wooden spoon/stick. There was a room where the kids could go and play and eat dinner, but Shyla didn't want to go in there so she spent most of the night with us. Several auctions and raffles were going on. A silent auction of autographed sports memorabilia, a door price, a 50/50 raffle price, dozens of raffle ticket prizes, and a baking open auction. I wanted the cheesecake plate, but we didn't know there was the bake auction (since they didn't do it last year) so we didn't think to bring extra cash. We did the regular raffle though and didn't win anything :( Last year we won a bottle of wine and a gourmet bag of coffee, which was "great" since we aren't coffee drinkers, nor do we drink alcohol.It was a long day with having Shyla's ballet recital, then taking her out for ice cream, and ending the night at the crab feed. Shyla kept asking, "Where we going to the next place?" all day. It was a crazy and fun day/evening, but worth all the memories it will bring!
