Jacob just turned 5 months old a couple days ago. His new favorite thing to do is reach and grab for anything in his sight. He loves to play with toys that make noise. I can feel it beginning, the jealousy that is, with Shyla. She doesn’t like it when he’s playing with, well, any toys. For the past 2 1/2 years all the toys have been “hers” and now she has to share. We try to help her understand that sometimes it’s OK for Jacob to play with the toys too. Most of the time she’ll share, but on occasion she gets a little too "invested” in a toy and doesn’t want it taken. When he grabs at the toy she’ll snatch it and say, “No, Jacob, it’s mine, ok?!”
He’s also been starting to hold his own bottle. Once in a while we’ll see his hands come up real slow to hold the bottle. He likes to hold it right at the base near his mouth making it top heavy and he likes to keep his hands in a fist.
