Shyla's New Attitude

The last couple of weeks Shyla has really been showing that's she's independent. She can do many things like: take tops off pens, unscrew caps to water bottles, climb on the table, and stick the key in the file cabinet (though she has yet to figure out how to open it thankfully). The hard part though is whenever she's trying something that she can't do she will scream and thrown whatever she can't make work at you. Then, if you try to help her she gets mad at you.

Here she is after being told about 5 times to stop climbing on the table... on the table. She had pushed her car across the room and used that to climb up. Before this picture was taken she had been standing on her tippy toes to get the remotes off the top of the DVD player. She also likes to push buttons on the TV which is one of the reasons we have the table in front of it. A lot of good that is doing us... busted!

Last night Jake was drinking some juice. Shyla kept trying to grab the cup, and we all know 16 month olds aren't very "spillproof". Needless to say as I saw her grab once again for the cup, I reached over to try and stop her and, well, here is the result. We cleaned it up as best we could but when it dried you could see the outline of all the spills.

Enjoy it...Savannah now when you tell her not to do something she just tells you what she thinks of it, and goes right along doing it! Frustrating parenting moments that is for sure!

Bummer! Kat gets mad when she can't figure things out on her own as well. I feel for them because they can't communicate their needs well enough but they are also too stubborn sometimes. Yeah, we will see how the sleep thing goes - thanks for you comment!
