Surprise Mini Family reunion

Jake and I had the idea of planning a surprise mini reunion for his parents. With the help of his siblings, the reunion was planned for Easter Weekend 2008. When the parents arrived we had them watch a video we had put together. There were some pictures of all the kids and all the grandkids. It wasn't until the very end of the video that they started to figure out what was happening. When the video ended, the curtains were opened, and they saw everyone standing outside in the backyard.

The kids held signs up.

Dad was surprised..... so was Mom!

Red = Parents
Blue = Aaron and Melody (daughter)
Green = Torijean (daughter) and Malachi
White = Jake (son), Myself, and Shyla
Black = Jeremiah (son), Zoey, Daxon, Ikaiah, Noelani, and Renya

After taking some pictures, we all ate some yummy food and went to the park to play.

All the kids had a great time playing at the park. I enjoyed seeing them play together even though they didn't know each other very well. Why is it that as we get older it's harder to make friends and play nicely with each other? It's so much easier when we're young.

The cake was delicious!

Daxon and Ikaiah are twins. The last time I had seen them was when there were 6 months old.

Shyla and her cousin Daxon. Shyla loves to play with other kids.

Who knew that banging rocks would be the center of attention for as long as it was?

Shyla enjoyed going down the slide but she liked to play with the tanbark even more. Surprisingly not too many pieces went in her mouth. Her hands were FILTHY when we got home though.

By the end of the day everyone was tired and ready to get some rest for the next day... EASTER! Everyone was coming back to the house for an Easter egg hunt. I was so happy to have been able to meet Noelani and the newest addition to the family, Reyna. We all wish that part of the family lived closer so we could see them more often.

Wow, what a great family reunion. Did your mother in-law cry? She must be so happy. You guys seemed to have tons of fun.

That cake looks fantastic! Where did you get it, or who made it. I did not know you had started your own company! That is great. I am glad things are doing well. Easter looks fun as well!
