Not Just A Normal Saturday

We got a work order to go to a property that we were already servicing the exterior for, but they wanted us to clean out the inside as well as do a vehicle removal. So I called our guy that normally services that property and asked if he had seen any abandoned cars on the property and he said no. The only cars he had seen were from the neighbors because they had a lot of cars. So today Jake and I stopped by to see what the inside looked like. Jake goes in first and opens the garage door and what do you know is inside... a car! After looking at it for a few minutes we determined that it looked like it was stolen, so we called the police and had them check on it, and it did turn out to be stolen. The ones who stole it wiped the whole car down with WD-40 (they wiped all the doors/windows in the house too, everything was greasy). They took all the speakers, everything inside, and the car had nice 22" rims that they swapped for old flat tires that they used just to be able to drive the car into the garage.

Apparantly whoever did this came in the front window.

They ripped open the bathroom wall to take the copper from the pipes. This may seem weird to some people, but with all the foreclosures we've been going in, it's actually pretty commom for people to break in and take the copper from the pipes.

We had to wait for the police to arrive.

They called a tow truck company and had it removed. Turns out it was stolen back in January. When the police officer called the owner he said he was right down the street and he came over to claim anything that was left. He took pictures to turn them into his insurance company.

All the neighbors were talking about "Oh yeah that car has been there for a long time" and "The people that lived there were shady". One neighbor even showed us where there were bullet holes in the garage door. We know that someone knows what happened and who did it, but no one was talking. I don't think it was the ones that lived their previously, but probably some people that knew the house was vacant and they could "store" the car there.

Oh my gosh, never a dull moment with your guys company. Love all your stories. What do people do with the copper from the peipe?

They will recycle it most likely for drug/alcohol money. Copper is a good item to recycle now because the cost is high. I guess that makes people think they have the right to destroy private property to get it.
